After harvest, soybeans are cleaned, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted and hydrogenated — a process that turns the unsaturated fats into saturated ones, transforming the oil into a solid form: soy wax!

Most candles on the market are made with paraffin, a petroleum by-product that can release petrol-carbon soot into the air. Our candles are made with 100% pure soy wax from American-grown soybeans — a cleaner, plant-based, and renewable resource. Soy wax burns longer, cleaner, and is vegan-friendly, unlike beeswax or petroleum-based alternatives.

What Are Essential Oils, and Why Do We Use Them?

Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts derived from the aromatic parts of plants — such as leaves, rinds, seeds, or roots. We use only pure essential oils to scent our candles because they’re natural and sustainable. Unlike synthetic fragrance oils, essential oils contain no hidden chemicals or artificial additives, helping to keep your indoor air fresh and clean.

How Are Essential Oils Made?

Essential oils are carefully extracted from plants using methods like steam distillation or cold pressing (also called expression). These techniques preserve the natural integrity and therapeutic benefits of each plant’s aroma.

What Type of Wicks Do We Use?

We use eco-friendly cotton and paper wicks that are primed with vegetable-based wax — never metal or paraffin-coated. This ensures a clean, steady burn every time.

How to Extend the Life of Your Candle

For the best burn, let your candle melt evenly across the surface before blowing it out. This helps prevent “tunneling,” where wax remains on the sides of the jar. Burn your candle for no more than 3–4 hours at a time (less for smaller candles) and keep it away from drafts or wind to ensure a consistent flame and longer burn time.

Why Does My Candle Look Uneven?

Because soy wax is a natural material, variations are completely normal! Factors like room temperature, essential oil type, and even the season’s soybean crop can affect appearance. Some candles may develop rough tops or tiny imperfections — but don’t worry, these are purely cosmetic and won’t affect performance or safety. It’s all part of the beauty of handmade craftsmanship.

Can I Reuse the Candle Jar?

Absolutely! We encourage you to reuse your jar. To clean it, pour hot water into the container to melt any remaining wax, discard the wax and wick, and wipe it clean. A little rubbing alcohol and a paper towel will leave it sparkling and ready for a new purpose — perfect for storage or décor!

We’re unable to issue refunds for orders shipped to an incorrect address provided by the customer. If your package is returned to us due to an incorrect or incomplete address, we’ll contact you to confirm the correct information and send a new invoice for the additional shipping cost to resend your order.

Please note that all of our products are handcrafted in small batches using natural ingredients. While our recipes remain consistent, the nature of plant-based materials means that slight variations in color, texture, or scent may occur from batch to batch. These differences are a hallmark of handmade goods and a reminder of the natural ingredients we use.
